Chanel Spring Summer 2023 – If there’s one thing Channel Virginie Wired wants to be clear about, it’s that she’s not interested in pushing trends. For the Chanel Spring Summer 2023 show, it was all about home comfort, which is what the Chanel woman really means. Throughout history, and even in recent seasons, we’ve seen the channel house dramatize with fun, dramatic themes. There was Karl Lagerfeld’s FW14 show where models walked through a grocery store inside the Grand Palais, and when he modeled beachwear for his final collection before his death. Wire heads to the torch for moments of powerful, punk-inspired runway — and, more recently, the ’90s — to name a few. This season, we probably expected to see more of that kind of energy. Instead, we saw something very clever.
Time and time again, Wired proves its dedication to Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy, and today we saw one of the purest expressions of this from the brand in a while. It started with a short film by Sadan’s long-time collaborators, Inez and Vinod, a song for Alain Resnais.

From there, the set opens up to headliner Ryan Van Rump. It’s made of sheer black chiffon and trails behind her like a puff of smoke, setting the tone for a collection that feels almost weightless in practice, even the tees. Straddling both the past and the future, Spring Summer 2023 felt like a bygone era, channeling vintage Paris and Gabrielle, using cutting-edge technology, silhouettes and, most importantly, attitude.
It was dark and light. Where jackets hang from the shoulders and roll around the torso when moving, the deep plunge is just enough to show off. Halterneck dresses and cotton skirts by Roald Humes were printed with white camellia flowers. Ted was modernized, with pencil skirts falling below the waist and jackets cut at the waist, while wide tweed coats were introduced as well as low-cut trousers. Classic peep-toe pumps were on full display, accessorized with crystal crew socks and white fishnet remnants. As far as clothes are concerned, there were no trolls. A sheer chiffon skirt is paired with a silver sequin shift dress embellished with ostrich feathers, and everything is accented with silver necklaces and earrings that run down the body like loose threads.

The collection is said to play on themes of attractiveness, and no one can deny the idea as the models glided down the runway effortlessly and in the classiest way possible, flaunting their bodies while doing so. A wide variety is included. While Wired leans heavily towards its dominance on the channel, the idea of mixing it up is something that keeps us waiting, and coming back for more.
The idea of collecting was improvisation. One that, with hotly anticipated knowledge of Mitchell’s successor still being kept under wraps, felt like a sensitive topic that had been stolen.

Chanel Spring Summer 2023 Mary Jane Shoe Gets A Provocative Update
Luxury fashion house Chanel presented its Spring/Summer 2023 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The exhibition inspired the film by Alain Resnais (1961) in Marienbad last year, and was a collage of glamor imagined by designer Virginie Ward. Moving freely through the pieces and discovering the fantasy world before her, the Chanel woman for the season was a symbol of freedom of movement and expression, and was about purity of heart, modernity and enlightenment. Models walked the runway in layers. Silk chiffon, voluminous separates and a beautiful and easy, soft silhouette. This season, the pearl and feather ornaments also don’t feel too heavy, instead enhancing the air of the pieces. Shoes in the collection included practical flats, boots, and low heels, but the bags were all about fun — the ultra-mini bag, the heart-shaped suitcase, and the oval crossbody. Chanel’s front row saw house ambassador Kristen Stewart, wearing a striped sweatshirt and a tweed miniskirt cinched in at the waist, alongside fellow brand ambassador Jenny in a one-shoulder knit mini that matched With an oversized cardigan.
