Cornell Roster Spring 2023 – Each year, the Sun athletics department honors 25 graduating senior athletes – All-Americans, national champions, team captains and more. Here are some of the athletes who have represented Cornell at the highest level with honor and pride.

It’s hard to overlook him as one of the strongest defensemen to play in Red, in Gavin Adler’s legacy at Cornell. As a sophomore, Adler was an honorable mention All-American in the five-game COVID-19 shortened season. Returning to competition in 2022, Adler was the centerpiece of a Cornell team that made a run to the National Championship game. He was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy and first-team All-American selection, leading the Red with 34 caused turnovers. As a senior, Adler collected 59 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers. He was named an offseason All-American and is one of 25 candidates for the Tewaaraton Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top lacrosse player. At the end of the regular season, he was selected first overall in the Premier Lacrosse League college draft and was again named a first-team All-American. Max Andreev has been the mainstay of Cornell’s hockey offense since 2018. As a freshman, Andreev scored 10 points and had the fourth-best field goal percentage among freshmen. After missing the better part of two years due to COVID-19, Andreev had a breakout junior campaign, scoring in eight straight games, earning ECAC Hockey Player of the Month and ECAC Hockey Driscoll Skating and Player of the Month honors. Skill of the Week. He finished the season with 23 points and was named to the All-ECAC third team. As a senior, Andreev scored 22 points and helped the Reds reach the NCAA semifinals. After the season, he signed a non-pro tryout contract with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Two-time Ivy League champion Victoria Atkinson has influenced Cornell athletics since its inception. As a freshman at the Kane Invitational, she set a personal best and recorded the fifth-best pole vault in Cornell indoor track and field history. After a suspended season his sophomore year, he returned to competition his junior year and won the Ivy League Indoor and Outdoor Championships. He is also the school record holder in outdoor and indoor pole vault.

Ben Berardi’s prowess on the offensive end will not soon be forgotten. As a freshman, Berardi played a key role in the team’s 23-2-4 regular season. He led the team’s rookies with 17 points and was named ECAC Rookie of the Week twice. As a junior, Berard led the offense, leading the team with 14 goals and tied for second on the team with 23 points with senior Sam Malinski. When the Reds hosted top-ranked Quinnipiac in Lynah, Berard scored both goals to make it 2-1 in overtime. This season, Berard again led the team with 11 goals and tied his career high with 28 points. He was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week for a six-point weekend against Union and RPI. At the end of the season, he signed a non-professional tryout contract with the Texas Stars.

Hurdler Ama Boham has written her name in most of the Cornell record books and field records. Boham holds the school record in the 60-meter hurdles and is in the top ten all-time in the 100-meter hurdles. She was the Ivy League champion in the 60-meter hurdles, the first Cornellian champion in that event since 2007. She earned first-team All-Ivy honors and was also named to the Academic All-Ivy team.

Big Red Football Setting A Tone In Spring Practice

Shannon Brazier saw action in all 16 games in his first year and has made an impact on the field from the start. A two-way player, he had two four-goal games this season against Albany and Syracuse and was also named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week in March after a dominant performance against Dartmouth. In 2022, Brazier competed for Team China at the Women’s World Lacrosse Championship, finishing second in the tournament in draws and in the top 10 in assists. In his first season, he finished the season with 25 points – 20 goals and five assists. His all-around play earned him first-team All-Ivy honors.

Kathleen Castiello is a consistent hitter for the Reds, has been a force to be reckoned with. As a rookie, Castiello was second on the team in goals and points in just six starts. In 2022, Castiello added a game-high six points in Cornell’s 23-8 win over Columbia, tying the school record for most goals in the process. He was later named Offensive Player of the Week and had another six-point game against Dartmouth. After his inaugural 2022 season, Castiello received recognition when he was named honorable mention All-Ivy. This season, he became the 28th player in program history to reach the century mark. He again earned honorable mention All-Ivy honors to cap off his senior season.

A transfer from Northwestern, Amanda Cramer came to Cornell for the 2022 season and made an immediate impact. In his freshman year, he earned the team’s Most Improved Offensive Player award after leading the team in scoring and earning honorable mention All-Ivy. In just one year on the team, she earned the honor of captain, helping to lead the team along with Bridget Babcock and Hillary Hoover. He scored 55 points on the season, leading the team in scoring and finishing fourth in the Ivy League, good enough to be named to the All-Ivy first team.

Cornell rowing captain Gabbi DelBello is an accomplished athlete. In her junior season, she helped the Reds to a second-place finish at the MAISA Women’s Track and Field Championships. He also sailed at the Team Race Nationals, helping Cornell to a ninth-place finish, the program’s highest finish in school history. She was also part of the A Division team that helped Cornell to its first MAISA Women’s Spring Championship. As a result of his efforts, he was named to the All-MAISA first team and earned All-America honors. In his senior season, he was a unanimous All-Ivy team selection.

For four years, Victoria DeMeo has been a mainstay on beam and floor at Cornell. She earned a career-high 9.825 on beam and earned second-team All-American honors on floor with a score of 9.825. In her senior season, she qualified for the Women’s Gymnastics National Championships, where she scored a 9.625 on beam and a 9.725 on floor. Outside of track and field, he was named a USA Track Scholar-Athlete, earned GEC All-Academic honors and is a Scholar-Athlete All-American.

As head coach of the Cornell men’s basketball team, Greg Dolan led the Red to two straight Ivy Madness appearances. In his first year, Dolan came off the bench to average 4.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. After his sophomore year was delayed due to COVID-19, Dolan started most of his junior year and averaged 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists. In his first season, Dolan was one of the most effective players in the country. He finished the season with a 2.54 ERA, 33rd highest in the nation. In addition to his ability to drive to the basket and create opportunities for his teammates to score, Dolan was deadly behind the arc, converting 42.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Dolan earned second-team All-Ivy honors in his final season in Red.

When Cornell made its first appearance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament last fall in nearly 47 years, it was thanks in part to fifth-year forward Emeka Enel. Eneli appeared in all 17 games as a freshman and earned Ivy League Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors with the game-winner against Penn in the Ivy opener. The Ohio native then earned All-Ivy League honors after a stellar sophomore season. In 2021, Eneli was named to the All-Ivy first team and earned another Team Soccer United Men’s Coaches Northeast Region award. In 2022, Eneli was unanimously named to the All-Ivy first team and earned second team All-American honors. Eneli ended his Red career with 60 points – 21 goals and 18 assists. After his college career ended in the NCAA Sweet 16, Real Salt Lake selected him with the 25th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft.
