Dr. Yuan currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences at the American University of Health Sciences School of Pharmacy. Dr. Yuan brings extensive pharmacy and clinical experience in psychiatry and retail, specializing in psychiatry and adolescent and adolescent psychiatry.
As an experienced medical doctor, Dr. Yuan has worked as a Director of Pharmacy and Psychiatry in a psychiatric hospital for over 11 years. Prior to his clinical career in hospitals, he also spent many years working in the retail industry as a pharmacist and pharmacy supervisor. Dr. Yuan has mentored medical students, Pharm.D. students, and Pharmacy residents from several pharmacy schools for over 13 years.
Dr. Yuan is well versed in drug management, both in psychiatric hospitals and in retail settings. He is skilled in practice management, clinical protocol development, policy and process development, operational excellence, and student/pharmacist development.

Water – Dr. Fazelbhoy completed his PharmD from Western University of Health Sciences and his Master of Science degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He is a registered pharmacist in the state of California and licensed as a Professional Pharmacist. He is certified in pharmacology and currently works as a Clinical Pharmacist at Aurora Charter Oak Hospital in Covina, CA. He is also AAHIVP certified and has worked in HIV medicine in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Dr. Han brings more than 10 years of community service, pharmacy administration and clinical care management experience to the School of Pharmacy. Before joining, Dr. Han has been in pharmacy practice working with independent pharmacists and physicians to develop medication administration and regulatory compliance strategies. He manages several pharmacies and has trained many pharmacists and pharmacists to become pharmacy managers. Dr. Han has been involved in teaching seniors about medication adherence, chronic disease and Medicare Part D medications. Han is currently a member of the Korean American Pharmacists Association of California.

Dr. Hussain received his Ph.D in Pharmacy from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Amarillo, TX, and his BS in Pharmacy from Kakatiya University in India. Before joining, Dr. Hussain serves as an assistant professor of health sciences at the University of Louisiana and Oklahoma. He has taught both pharmacists and graduate students in various subjects including but not limited to Pharmacy, Integrative Pharmacy, Pharmacy, Physical Pharmacy, Advanced Drug Delivery and Targeting, Pharmaceutical Technology, Medical Microbiology and Biotechnology. He also taught several M.S. and Ph.D. student during his career.
Dr.’s research interests Hussain mainly focused on the role of respiratory proteins and peptides in drug delivery. He is currently researching ways to improve drug absorption using invasive methods in laboratory animals and understanding the mechanism of action of macromolecular drugs in vitro. Dr. Hussain is also passionate about student learning and using innovative teaching and learning methods in the classroom and laboratory. He is currently pursuing a teaching and learning scholarship after joining in 2020.
