All students (part-time and full-time) must apply for financial aid immediately after applying for admission to HCC. When applying for financial aid, you can qualify for a combination of more than 10 types of grants, loans, institutional grants and work-study funds to help cover the cost of college.
Creating Houston Community College’s Unified Sports Program
Applying for financial aid is the first step in learning about your options for paying for college. Although HCC has multiple start dates and accepts financial aid year-round, applying early will give you the best chance of receiving aid.
Depending on your citizenship status, you may need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).
HCC has multiple start dates and accepts financial aid applications throughout the year, and filing your FAFSA early will give you the best chance of obtaining grants, loans, tuition and emergency funds for which you may be eligible. Many part-time and full-time students who complete the application receive some form of federal, state, or institutional financial aid, so you should always complete the FAFSA. Failure to complete the FAFSA means you are leaving federal, state or institutional aid unclaimed.

Filing TASFA early will give qualified part-time and full-time students a better chance of receiving government scholarships, work-study or institutional aid. Failure to comply with TASFA means you leave government or institutional assistance unclaimed.
Checklist Your student center may contain four types of checklists: rules, boarding/pre-registration; financial aid; or others. To avoid delays in processing your application, please visit myeagle.; Select “Student Register”; Select the “Checklist” box/tile to complete all to-do list items.
