On January 23, DPO, K-State MANRRS Chapter and Kansas Soybean 19th Annual Dr. MLK Junior Host Diversity Student Leadership Seminar is partnered to kick off the university-wide MLK observance week, hosted by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Students. substance (DMSA). On January 25, the K-State MANRRS will host its first meeting of 2023. The meeting will include a former Project Impact researcher and a current Hormel Foods representative to give the final push for internship and job opportunities. From February 20-24, K-State MANRRS will celebrate its Spring 2023 MANRRS Week. The week includes fundraisers, events and philanthropic activities to raise awareness of MANRRS.

On February 28, OPH will host the Spring 2023 Diversity Forum “Cultivating Our Mindset.” This semester’s platform is Dr. Featuring Lauren Brewer. Dr. Brewer is a former K-State MANRRS officer and graduate of the K-State Department of Grain Sciences with a master’s degree in grain science and a Ph.D. In Grain Chemistry. Currently, he is a member of the College of Egg Dean’s Advisory Board and Director of Research and Development at General Mills, Inc. Dr. Join us as Brewer leads a conversation about the importance of diversity in the workplace.

Note to parents, guardians and families: You may or may not receive the same communications as your student. Please encourage your student to check their K-State email address regularly.

University residences will open for the academic year on Wednesday 16 August 2023. Students planning to arrive early may depart on Sunday, August 13, 2023 for an additional fee of $55.00/day per day prior to the official start day. The first arrivals will depart on Saturday August 12.

And Dining Services sent the first move-in email to all residents via their K-State email address on July 5, 2023. All residents are required to complete the required information and schedule an appointment for registration.

The Residence Handbook covers important policies and procedures. Residents are responsible for following the guidelines, including procedures specific to COVID-19. Each resident must consult the Residence Manual thoroughly. An updated calendar with important dates is also included in the manual. The calendar is updated every year in late June or early July. It has been renewed for the academic year 2023-2024.

If necessary, students may enter their day and time in the system by 5:00 p.m. Can be changed up to The day before arrival. Please do not show up for check-in on a day or time other than the day you have selected. After arriving at the hall of residence, only the student should first pass through the main entrance to the room. Staff will show you where to check and collect your keys. When you have your keys you can start moving and your family/guests can start helping you inside the building.

If you need help making beds, removing beds, bunking, getting a shower curtain for your bathroom (suites only) or other maintenance requests, please see the front desk or your resident assistant for assistance. Upon arrival, you can submit a maintenance work order request through the K-State HDS mobile app or resident portal. Floor meetings will be held on Wednesday, August 16 for students arriving on or before August 16. Ask your RA about the meeting location or check the signs posted along your floor. Students arriving after August 16 will have an additional floor meeting later in the week.

Know when and where to eat! We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the locations, menus and hours of our dining centers. Move-in week meals begin with breakfast on Monday, August 14th.
