Where London was shrouded in grandeur, New York was brimming with energy. On the street, people choose their bold, bright look (everything seemed to be filled with large sunglasses) and there was no street that did not combine with the catwalk as it carries the drama of all the high hopes. From the mega catwalk at Proenza Schouler (beware – there’s a lot more to hair and makeup next season than just getting out of the shower) to Tommy Hilfiger’s return to the big apple and the shows we missed. Kate Spade kicked off New York Fashion Week with a show on Level 3, World Trade Center, with stunning views of Manhattan. Large grasshoppers and a realistic shower of clouds in the balloon take the collection, aptly named Flowers and Showers, to sharp, bright branches and subtle landmarks and hidden lives.
Paying homage to spring favorites – the vinyl trench coat and the rain hat as the best – the best pieces from the collection were presented to a list of mega-celebs. Celebrity girlfriends Eva Phillippe (real life Reese Witherspoon) and Ella Travolta looked like princesses from Park Avenue, while Rebel Wilson wore spicy yellow and Never Again star Maitreya Ramakrishnan wore classic shirt dresses and statement jewelry. Carolina Herrera 2023 At New York Fashion Week
This New York Fashion Week was the first since the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Two models walked the catwalk hand-in-hand in a romantic moment before the designated models stepped gracefully into the distance and a (real) Afghan Hound took the stage. For the first time in three years, Tommy Hilfiger returns to his country with a show inspired by the friend of the late designer Andy Warhol. Along with a host of street models, runway favorites Paloma Elisser, Julia Fox and former interview magazine editor Bob Colicello hit the runway on Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive – decked out in winter-friendly fur and winter warmth. Even the pouring rain – guests were given waterproof ponchos to wear – couldn’t keep the smiles from the faces of the audience, which included Kate Moss, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, to name a few. A real and true homecoming for one of America’s greatest heroes.

Australian fashion designer Dion Lee showcases tropical-inspired silhouettes and, of course, in true Dion Lee style, plenty of bold cuts at New York Fashion Week.
