Ohio State University Spring Break 2023 – Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, masks will be optional in many indoor spaces on the Ohio State University campus, including residence halls, dining halls, classrooms, offices and the Ohio Union.

For now, the university will maintain its own COVID-19 surveillance testing program, which includes weekly testing of students in university housing, social fraternities and sororities, and approved exceptions to the university’s vaccination requirements. In-state freshmen will see a 3.8% increase in tuition and general expenses, a change of $418. The annual cost of attending Ohio State is now $11,936, which will be phased out over the next four years.
Returning undergraduate students do not incur tuition. Incoming freshmen in 2018 are included in the Ohio State Tuition Guarantee, which essentially sets in-state tuition for each class and freezes those rates for four years.

The change corresponds to additional fees for non-resident students attending classes directly. Non-resident online tuition makes Ohio State the seventh most affordable Big Ten school for out-of-state online programs. Last year it was recognized as the most affordable.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, 1% of Ohio State’s traditional students took all their courses online. This number increased dramatically from 49% to 54% of non-resident students who took all online courses last academic year.
In addition, nine graduate and professional programs will increase or change some fees. These include the College of Dentistry, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine and the Fisher College of Business.

Fully vaccinated students are only required to be tested for COVID-19 on a monthly basis instead of weekly for unvaccinated students. Masks are still required in class, but the requirement for an outer face covering will be removed.
